Binh Quang Nguyen specialises in river and dam engineering, particularly integrated flood and sediment management for sustainable development in river basins. His research interests span the fundamentals of river engineering, fluvial hydraulics, hydraulic infrastructures, reservoir sediment management, sediment management techniques, monitoring techniques, mitigation measures against flood/drought and sediment disasters, hydrodynamic and sediment transport, integrated river basin management, and disaster risk reduction, especially in the context of the impacts of climate change and human intervention.
